Emma Stone looked stunning in Giambattista Valli, carrying off the oversized bow detail perfectly. Slicked back hair and subtle accessories allowed the bold dress to take centre stage.
Kate Mara, wearing a beautiful Jack Guisso Couture gown, was one of the few stars to experiment with pastel shades on the red carpet. I love the delicate embellishment, and think she really suited this elegant, ethereal look.
Milla Jovovich was another favourite, wearing a trailing Elie Saab gown. The asymmetric detail kept the dress from feeling too bridal, and, accompanied by a flash of red lipstick, was the perfect homage to classic Hollywood glamour.
I'm never normally a fan of this style of dress, but on Kristen Wiig, I adore it. Her taupe J. Mendel dress was the perfect antidote to the largely monochrome looks on display and was a real standout for me.
Another Mara! This time Rooney, who has looked amazing throughout the promotion she's been doing for The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, and wore Givenchy Couture. Simple, understated and classically chic, Rooney's look was perfectly pitched.
Sandra Bullock in Marchesa was another of my favourites. This gown is sleek and sophisticated, and the contrasting black and white perfectly counterpointed by Marchesa's signature brocade detailing.
What did you think of the Oscars? And who was your best dressed?
